For this year's West End Festival, we present to you not one but two guided walks:
Saturdays 2nd and 9th June - 11am - Maryhill Barracks Storytelling Trail
The Maryhill Barracks were built in the late 18th century and were present until the 1960s. Throughout this time soldiers from various regiments became part of the defining feature of Maryhill. Learn about what it was like to live as a soldier in our interactive storytelling walk, suitable for families with children ages 5+.
Saturday 16th June - 11am - Women of Maryhill Guided Walk
From suffragettes to institutions for ‘wayward girls’, there is a story to tell of women’s history in Maryhill. Discover the buildings and areas where local women made history in our new themed guided walk along the Maryhill Locks and Forth and Clyde Canal walkways. Please not that this walk is available for adults only.
To book please email heritage@mbht.org.uk or call 0141 946 5149.
