Exhibtion: Fred's War

Fred's War Photograph

Fred's War tells the extraordinary story of the 1st Cameronians, who achieved notoriety for selling The Great War's earliest front line photographs. Follow Fred Davidson and his band of brothers from the parade ground at the Wyndford Barracks to the trenches of the Western Front.

Maryhill Barracks were built in 1872, but were decommissioned in the 1960s when the site was given over to social housing. The site is now owned by Cube Housing Association, part of Wheatley Group. The exhibition is presented in conjunction with them, as part of the Wyndford People's History Project.

The exhibition will be on public display in the Halls from 21st October until 22nd February 2019.
