Glasgow G20 8YE

Maryhill Burgh Halls is located at the junction of Maryhill Road and Gairbraid Avenue, just across the road from Maryhill Library. Our entrance is at the side of the building, on Gairbraid Avenue. Enter the courtyard via the Firemen gates and we’re on the right.

By Car

The postcode for Maryhill Burgh Halls is G20 8YE. Gairbraid Avenue is closed to traffic, so turn off Maryhill Road at Kelvindale Road, then turn right up Burnhouse Street.

Free on-street parking is usually available in the vicinity - although please note space outside the Halls itself is very tight, so please only park in the marked bays on Gairbraid Avenue. Six dedicated disabled spaces are available directly opposite the archway entrances.

By Bus

Maryhill is well served by buses to and from the city centre. The closest bus stops are on Maryhill Road, at Lochburn Road and Maryhill Library. See www.travelinescotland.com for more details, bus numbers and times.

By Train

The nearest mainline station is Maryhill, situated about 20 minutes walk (1km, 0.6 miles) north of the Halls, straight along Maryhill Road. For more details, see www.scotrail.co.uk. Hillhead subway station is also about 40 minutes walk to the south.

By Bike

The canal forms part of National Cycle Route 754; more info can be found at www.sustrans.org. Bike racks are nearby on Maryhill Road and within our entrance courtyard behind the Fire Station Gates on Gairbraid Avenue.

By Boat

The Forth & Clyde Canal provides easy access to Maryhill. Access by foot from the canal to the Halls can be found at the top of Burnhouse Street, and there are mooring facilities near The White House, by Lock 21. Full details can be found at Scottish Canals.

scottish lgbti+ rainbow mark

Scottish LGBTI+ Rainbow Mark

We are part of the Equality Network Scottish LGBTI+ Rainbow Mark scheme.

The Scottish LGBTI+ Rainbow Mark is a visible sign or ‘symbol’ displayed in social places across Scotland. We display ours to show that the Halls, Maryhill Museum and The Nolly Café are all safe spaces for the LGBTQI+ community.

The Scottish LGBTI+ Rainbow Mark is a new initiative to:

  • Increase positive LGBTI+ visibility

  • Provide information and tools to enable better LGBTI+ inclusion

  • Reduce isolation and minority stress for LGBTI+ people

  • Create more welcoming places in Scotland

  • Reflect a genuine desire to recognise and respect LGBTI+ diversity and inclusion across Scotland
